“I asked for something that doesn’t exist and the app told me the whole service crashed.”

An expected, well-understood failure escapes as a generic server error instead of the specific status the contract promises, usually with no structured error body. Callers cannot distinguish 'you asked for something that does not exist' from 'we are broken'.
